Hey, I'm Kyle...

So, you found my website. Willkommen! Yes, I speak very bad high school German, I know you're impressed. My writing is much better than my secondary language skills. At least I hope! Take a look around. I've got an About Me section below, some ways to keep in touch with me, and some information about my as-yet-mostly-unpublished writing (I'm working on it) that you can take a gander at. Feel free to connect with me on social media or through my Journal. I'm always around. And I like to make new friends/talk to people. So yeah, [insert favorite social media] me.

About

About

As an avid reader, I usually become a little obsessed with my favorite authors. I like to know as much as I can about them: what kind of a person they are, what part of the world they live in, their hobbies, their family life, and so on. It is an obsession that I cannot really explain, but I know that many others feel the same way I do about their favorite authors, so I’m not really ashamed of it! So, I will try to answer a bunch of these questions here (if I don’t mention something, feel free to message and ask).

Currently, I live in Boston, MA. In May of 2008, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Northeastern University, which is located right in the heart of the city (even though writing is my first and strongest love, statistically speaking, it was better to have something to fall back on… just in case).

Most writers can be found saying that they knew they wanted to be a writer ever since they were 7-years-old. Well, not me. Not by a long shot, in fact. I was a mild reader when I was younger, never anything extraneous, and even stopped reading for pleasure for a while (I know… just thinking about it now gives me the shivers!). My reintroduction into the literary world can actually be attributed to one author: Piers Anthony. For a while after that, I was afraid to read anything outside of his novels for fear of once again losing interest in reading. Then, I was able to move on to other Fantasy authors (staying inside of the genre wasn’t too scary a thought), before finally branching out into other genres. Now, I love to read almost anything I can get my hands on.

I actually started writing in eighth grade. We were asked to keep a little journal of stories, and I found myself writing in it more and more as time went on. Little one-page stories grew to be several pages, and they kept growing from there. Jump ahead to tenth grade when I got the idea for my first novel, and I’ve kept writing ever since.

I’ve branched out a bit from those early days. I’ve written three novels (so far), dozens of short stories, and have even tried my hand at screenwriting. It may sound kind of cliché, but I love every aspect of writing, and every medium in which it appears (hence my seemingly erratic body of work). Though, I have to admit, I fall pretty flat when it comes to poetry (can’t read it, write it, nothing), but considering all of the other writing/reading options out there, I’m not too miffed about it.

Kyle's bookshelf: read

Paper Towns
4 of 5 stars
Better than LFA, but not as good as TFIOS. Which is fine. No books are equals when compared to one another. But this one had me until the very end. I don't know what ending would've made me happy, but it wasn't this one. I could've dealt...
More Than This
5 of 5 stars
I'm struggling even now as I write this about what rating to give it, either a 4 or a 5. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but to me it is. On the one hand I really enjoyed this book. The powerful emotions. The beautiful writing. The twists....
